I just have to share this amazing group of young adults making a difference in our community! The PPEP kids have so much passion and are driven to help as many people as they can. They are collecting food throughout the community in hopes of collecting 5,000 pounds to donate to the Yuma Community Food Bank next Friday April 21st. They have gone door to door in San Luis, set up donation boxes throughout all of Yuma County. They are such hard workers and are so dedicated. I am so pleased to be a part of this group and organization! I cannot wait until they come to YCFB next Friday. They have a goal to reach and a desire to break a record...keep you posted next week for the end result!
Just around the corner for the Wine Event at City Hall. We still have a few tickets remaining. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket, let me know. We have many wonderful raffle prizes to give away! Looking forward to some delicious appetizers from Chef Eddie Guzman and a wonderful wine selection from no other than Michael Shelhamer (owner) Old Town Wine Cellar. Should be a great event! Hope to see you there!

Yuma Community Food Bank thanks you all!
Make today a day of giving. Donate to the Yuma Community Food Bank. Arizona Gives Day happens once a year, the 1st Tuesday of April. This is a day to give to a charity or charities in Arizona.
Hunger hurts everyone, but it is especially devastating in childhood because hunger deprives kids of more than just food. On empty stomachs kids don't have the energy to focus, learn and grow. Yet, this is the reality for 1 in 5 children in the U.S. who worry about when they'll have their next meal.
Here in Yuma, the Yuma Food Bank feeds over 20,000+ each and every month. Help make a difference in our community! Donate to the Yuma Community Food Bank TODAY!
Today we have the pleasure of AEA Credit Union working away in the warehouse making bags of groceries and filling bags of fruit and vegetables. What a great team effort! We are thankful that they requested to have the opportunity to come and help! AEA all of us at the Yuma Community Food Bank want to say THANK YOU!
Not only does St. Paul's Episcopal Church love Yuma, they also love the Yuma Community Food Bank and to show their love and support, they put together a "Walk-a-thon" on Saturday March 11th, to raise awareness of the importance of "giving". They had 35 of the members of the church walk from Fry's on 24th Street to the Food Bank with wagon and bags of food to donate to the Yuma Community Food Bank. They collected 500 pounds of food which equates to $835.00. This was an awesome event and we are so pleased to know that St. Paul's Episcopal Church wants to continue to help the food bank with other events in the future!
