Back Pack Program

What is the Back Pack Program?

This program is geared toward the nutrition education your child can have on the weekends when school is not in session. The Yuma Community Food Bank is working in conjunction with our school to provide backpacks for 370 students.

Schools Who Participate:

Desert Sonora Elementary

Orange Grove Elementary

Tierra Del Sol Elementary

Valle Del Encanto

Somerton Middle School

Dateland Elementary

The program will be implemented as follows:
1. The Yuma Community Food Bank will drop off backpacks with nutritional foods and snacks every scheduled Friday so that students and parents can partake during the weekend.
2. Students must return each backpack on Monday morning so that each backpack can be refilled and ready for pick up on Friday.

This program is made available to Students by Fort Yuma Rotary Club & Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.
